Hi Readers, the whole team of Revolt House Publishing and Ink Drift welcome and congratulate the author Shetall Ramsinghani on her the launch of her upcoming book- Treasure Within Dreams.
Shetall Ramsinghani was born up in Delhi and has been living in the city since then; she completed her graduation from Delhi University.
As an individual, her endearing nature and cheerful personality make her popular among friends. Shetall is an avid reader – she is fond of reading anything to do with spiritualism, psychology, the psychic realm, reincarnations and autobiographies. Her favourite authors include Brain Weiss, Paulo Coelho, Brian Tracy, Gary Chapman, Louise Hay and Doreen Virtue, among many others.
Shetall feels her connect with books not only enhances her knowledge but also inspires her. She has come up with three amazing books namely, Gang of Wonder Kids, Love beyond Veils and The Golden Hour.
Shetall is also fond of music and plays the guitar too.
Shetall has keenness in mysticism and the occult — she is a certified Pranic and Reiki healer, Angel therapist, Tarot Card reader and an astrologer. She shares a deep love for animals and this is reflected in the fact that she took up the healing courses ostensibly to alleviate the suffering of stray animals. She practices meditation too.
Where do you get your ideas from or what inspires you to write?
I get ideas from real life incidents happening around me. Also, I believe sometimes the best way to preach a soul is to tell a story.
What form of writing expresses or appeals to you the most? (Poetry, short stories, novels, etc.)
I began with writing poems at a very young age. With the push of my avid readers and friends I started writing short stories. Never knew when I landed in the world of writing novels. It is a process I guess, a plan of God. You give me any subject to write on and I’ll do it. I have written speeches too for my bosses. Hence asking me which area makes me happy the most, I guess just give me anything to write and my soul becomes happy writing.
What are the key elements that lead you into writing- ‘Treasure Within Dreams’?
I will just summarize it in three words- ‘The universe conspired’.
What was an early experience where you learned that language had power?
My poetry brought me closer to a group of people which amazingly had elders, youngsters and kids too. Their appreciation and their happiness in my work made me more enthusiastic to write and my journey began.
What effects does writing have on people? And what impact do you want Treasure to have on people?
Well, this is a tricky question. I would say to each to trust its own understanding of the book. People connect with my stories. I have often been told by my readers that I carry a soul of a preacher.
Treasure within Dreams is a creation of many things. For example a girl (Princess) who is out of her palace (her comfort zone) in the world of people (wolves). She safe guards herself, and learns to be a strong personality. She being a girl chose to fight her own battles instead of sitting and waiting for her prince charming to come and rescue her from the situations she had to harbor. The book also has many hidden mysterious of our daily lives.
My book, Treasure within Dreams is a different kind of fairytale. It says don’t wait for any prince charming to come. Be a charming princess in the life of a prince. Waiting is a big NO!
What was the hardest, most challenging part of writing ‘Treasure Within Dreams’?
The thought of the story came at the point of time in my life when I was fighting with my demons of separation with my father. Somewhere along the story line Sheba and I grew up together and you can say Sheba turned me into a much stronger person.
What do you think most characterizes your writing?
I believe my uniqueness has been that my readers connect with the story immediately.
You have published books earlier- The Golden Hour, Love Beyond Veils, Gang of Wonderkids, how is Treasure different from your previous books?
This one is a fairytale whereas others were poems, short stories and moral stories for everyone.
What theme and subject matter you have in mind for your next book?
My next book would be based on a romantic journey where the protagonist chooses to give up on life without thinking that there is always a ray of light at the end of the tunnel.
Does the process of writing energize you or exhaust you?
Energizes, it gives me new life every time.
Your all-time favourite quote?
“It is better to be defeated on principles rather to win on lies.”
